School Pictures Fall 2014

I did not order magnets this year because I don't love these pictures. The kids are cute but the pictures are BORING! Go ahead and download a few copies for yourself this year. If you would like us to print them out and mail them to you, let us know. We'd be MORE than happy :) 

mom's night out

this is an OLD post! this happened the monday the quartana's and AZ buenzow's left town. these ladies are my "mom friends-" they are the mom's of emmit's friends I have met (or not until now) along the way. our local place is called "bottle and bettega." others are "wine and canvas" ect. you drink wine and paint. they walk you through, step by step, and tell you if you get frustrated, "drink more wine!" =D

we said good bye to all our preschool teachers at Rainforest. we ran into Mrs. Maria, who was emmit's very first caregiver, on our way out the door. talk about ironic! then onto South Loop Elementary School for kindergarten orientation. emmit was lucky and ended up with 3 of his friends in his class this year.

gramee and grandpa's surprise visit

emmit had NO IDEA they were coming! they arrived on an earlier train than usual just so they could pick him up from school :) I came home sick from work with a tummy "thing." since I wasn't feeling that great all weekend, I don't have a lot of photos to share but I did get the good part:

 emmit has a school project in which we have to submit photos of us as preschoolers. this was fun. it's always fun to rummage through old photos. and, because of my mom's year-long project to scan every picture she owns, I am able to have easy access to the fruits of her labor. for christmas a few years ago, she gave keith and me a flash drive with a copy of all our childhood pictures. a true treasure for a photo junkie like myself.

the 4yo class performs. I was not able to attend, as usual :( but micah took a beautiful video for all to see and, with the help of facebook, I was able to share the photos rainforest snapped. apparently, miss philena (the teacher who is trying to launch an acting career) went home sick the day of the show (wed)! she must have been REAL sick and quite disappointed. miss philena is emmit's FAVORITE teacher b/c "she has pretty hair" aka curly hair :)  this is miss nicole playing understudy, capt hook

I have no idea where he has seen star wars or how he has learned to build this... emmit constructs this fighter plane with any kind of lego, ect, he can- and he's pretty good at it!
