christmas was short this year. I came down with the flu- on christmas eve and was sick for the next 3 days. we had to cancel our trip to STL because of it. We went to keith's house for ethan's birthday and christmas eve, I got up on christmas morning for presents and breakfast, and then I went back to bed. micah, emmit, and scarlet went to dinner with G.G. and uncle greg without me. so here's the only video I got from christmas day along with a couple pictures from christmas eve. that is all :(

 Thursday, November 21, 2013.  went into labor at 4:30a got dana over by 6 to watch emmit and get him off to school. checked into the hospital around 7. called into work 7:30a when I was relieved they officially admitted me. my water broke and I quickly dilated to 10cm. they wheeled me upstairs as I was yearning for an epidural. the dr. came into the room and convinced me she could get the baby out before the anesthesiologist could even get there. 6 minutes, 3 contractions/pushes later, after being in labor shy of 4.5hr WITHOUT DRUGS(!), we welcomed our second child and daughter at 8:58a. she weighed 7lbs 5oz and measured 18" long.

5/29 happy 5th birthday emmit!

we had a party with 10 friends at our house and played good old fashioned games. pin the ______ on emmit, pinata, and bozo buckets, which the kids had no idea what the game was but had a great time with it anyways.

emmit's tradition

notice the candles in both photographs. then note that emmit was sitting to ethan's left just below me. emmit ALWAYS blows out the candles. not just at ethan's party, at EVERY party. we sang "happy birthday" and while ethan was thinking about what to wish for.... too late! if you go back and watch the hanukkah video again you will noticed he was forewarned NOT to blow out the candles. silly us. we didn't think to remind him this time.
