I WANT SCRAMBLED EGGS FOR BREAKFAST. we don't have any eggs. WHAT DO WE HAVE FOR BREAKFAST? cereal. I DON'T WANT CEREAL. I'M GOING TO MAKE MY OWN BREAKFAST.

ingredients: flour, sugar, water, froot loops. I cooked it up and finished it with marshmallows and chocolate syrup. emmit made us taste it and... it really wasn't THAT bad :)

 micah took emmit to this a few weeks back and has been begging me to post these pictures. they went on a saturday while I was working. this takes place every year at IIT. it's free (I think) but they don't take you if you just show up at the door. you have to make a reservation. I also think it may be limited to only about 100 people. they supply you with legos and a map. you supply the creativity. if you look closely, you really can see the creativeness that some folks have  ☼

we had the windows open lately, since it's been so nice. we left home to go out to the suburbs in the afternoon and micah came home not too long after we left and jumped in the shower. upon exiting the shower he heard some very loud clamor so he went to investigate. it was a squirrel ENTERING OUR HOUSE via the window. he was IN THE HOUSE. and he wasn't leaving. it wasn't until micah swatted at him until he decided to turn around and leave. I questioned, "after ALL these years of having the windows open, why NOW?" micah's response, "no dogs to scare him away."

the storm

 that shut down lollapalooza. it was BAD. our basement flooded at work. first shot of the city taken from right out front of the salon. this was only 3p. dark as sunset (actually sunrise). after the storm, the crowd (peacefully) made their way back to the festival. they reported only 6 bands not be able to perform.

we are living the inevitable....  we took rufus in to the vet this morning because he was bloated, lethargic, and, the only thing he's eaten in the last few days, is cheese and bacon treats.  turns out the bloat was blood from a tumor on his heart that had rupteured. diagnosis: FATAL. best case scenario- chemotherapy and 6 mo life.
