the city of chicago fixed our GD sidewalk!!! only took them 5 flipping years. Geez. micah made it a short term goal: enlist ALL our neighbors into the sidewalk campaign. we all filed a complaint through the city and received a complaint number. flame war started. then scheduled a meeting with our alderman, armed with all our complaint numbers. a few follow up correspondences and: done! thank you husband.... it doesn't take much to keep a boy's interest up- as long as there's trucks involved.

we're getting tubes

just like our Quartana cousins. dr thompson, head of ENT dept, at the brand new lurie children's hospital will be performing the surgery on wednesday 4/3. ...and then dr thompson just happened to show up at the salon to get a haircut. of course I went up to say HI. small world.

preschool

emmit has a school project in which we have to submit photos of us as preschoolers. this was fun. it's always fun to rummage through old photos. and, because of my mom's year-long project to scan every picture she owns, I am able to have easy access to the fruits of her labor. for christmas a few years ago, she gave keith and me a flash drive with a copy of all our childhood pictures. a true treasure for a photo junkie like myself.

we went to MI last weekend with a group of friends to celebrate a 50th birthday. this friend is our mutual friend, jon. this was significant to micah and me because this marks our 10 year anniversary of the time we met. we met each other 10 years ago at jon's 40th birthday bash in jamaica. we were the "notorious couple" and everyone knew our story. it was sweet. ♡ Manistee National Forest is in the lower peninsula along lake michigan just north of muskegon. we stayed at Barothy Lodge in duffy's cabin.
