ottoville, oh

we went to visit the quartanas in ohio this weekend.  we really enjoyed our time with tony, jen jen, nicholas, and tessa.  we realized that our last trip out was exactly a year ago.  same weekend.  this time out we took a drive to see the land they had purchased to build a house.  in this first photo, their land is just beyond the wooded lot on the left.  the last photo is taken down the street in their current neighborhood.  both properties are very beautiful and very peaceful.

nicholas wasn't quite sure what to make of us.  we arrived late on saturday night and nicholas had already gone to bed.  he saw us for the first time on sunday morning (we poked our heads into his room for a peek once we settled.) and couldn't keep himself from this look.  i had to capture it.

uncle tony made us dinner on sunday night.  he made bread from scratch, spaghetti with homemade meatballs, and red sauce from the tomatoes they grew in their garden this past summer.  YUM-MY!  thanks, uncle tony.  it was so good we had to throw a bath in before bed to wash all the noodles off.
