sunday morning walk

this winter was so cold that 80% of the great lakes froze. now they're saying the lake temperature at the beaches is 15º cooler than it was this time last year which is creating our usual morning fog. I took a video of the fog moving up the side of a highrise...

one bad day

this is the day emmit and I tried to bake a cake and the oven broke (we got the whole cake made and then the oven wouldn't heat. we threw the cake down the drain.) so we went to the pool instead and, when we got there, I realized I had forgotten a swim diaper for scarlet. day over.

emmit's legos

 if you didn't know, there's this (free) kid's lego magazine and every month they feature kid's creations (big and small). well, emmit has been trying to make the cut. EVERY. month. you need to submit an actual photo. so, every month, we take a picture, micah prints it out, and mails it in.... c'mon lego- throw a kid a bone already!!!

mom's night out

this is an OLD post! this happened the monday the quartana's and AZ buenzow's left town. these ladies are my "mom friends-" they are the mom's of emmit's friends I have met (or not until now) along the way. our local place is called "bottle and bettega." others are "wine and canvas" ect. you drink wine and paint. they walk you through, step by step, and tell you if you get frustrated, "drink more wine!" =D

 I asked my mom who scarlet looked like: me or micah (not emmit!)?  remember, mary ann spent an entire year + scanning photos....  she produced this picture. of her. Mary Ann Raustis circa 1950 and Scarlet Rae Taylor  7/14.
