we went downtown to state street to watch the parade this year. it was very very cold. and damp. (enticing?) emmit had a great time. he stayed a lot warmer than i did! I DID have fun watching them get the balloons under the EL trax, though...

chi town futball
this is where emmit plays soccer. they have a free play day on tuesday mornings. i have never been. micah said it was on cermak and racine. so i drive down cermak. i don't see anything that looks like a soccer arena. not long into the drive, my navigation system in the back seat warns: O'ER HERE! O'ER HERE! as i see emmit point in the direction of a sign pointing the same way stating chi town futball this way. i now need to find out which way to go around the block as the system, once again, warns: MAMMA- YOU GOT A' TURN A-ROUN'!

famous words
Last Friday night, we went out for pizza. Micah had picked ET up from daycare and then to the salon to collect me before going to D'Agastino's. (Emmit had lots of M &M's waiting for mommy to get off work.) When we got to the restaurant, Emmit quieted down and we figured he was just tired from the day/week. He asked to sit with Daddy so Micah picked him up and he laid his head on Daddy's shoulder. 2 seconds later, Emmit threw-up all over Micah. (Thank heavens it was NOT me!! I am a vomit-phobe!!!) Micah takes him into the bathroom, cleans him up, takes both their shirts off, we go home. Little bought of Diarrea after that and we're all in the clear. I check in with ET Saturday morning and ask, "Do you feel better?" "Yeah!" YUCKY! "What's yucky?" I ask. I SPIT YUCKY!

emmit's first trip
how lucky is emmit?! how many kids actually have an uncle that really IS a fireman?! sunday was our first trip out to the skokie fire house to visit uncle keith. it took emmit a couple of minutes to warm up to the trucks. he was a little intimidated by the big firetrucks, but loved the "little" ones; i.e., the antique open-aired model and the "go-cart" model. we had a great time and we are SO PROUD of uncle keith!! =~D

an old homeless woman sitting at the bus stop
this is on the way home from dinner tonight. emmit did SO well behaving himself right up to the ride home. i gave him my phone to watch a short animated story: on top of spaghetti. i laughed and said he looked like an old lady while micah added two more cents...
